The preparation for this exam is to drink 32 ounces of water one hour prior to your appointment and come in with a full bladder.
A transvaginal ultrasound is a high resolution and more detailed exam that specifically looks at the female reproductive organs such as: the uterus, ovaries, cervix, and the vagina. This exam involves having the technician inserting a probe 2-3 inches into your vaginal canal.
